Buttered Up

My youngest, who is four, did the funniest thing today. You know those things that you think you will always remember but then, if you don't write them down, you forget. It was one of those things.

She leaned over to my cheek and kissed me ten or fifteen times in rapid succession. When she was done she looked up into my eyes and said, "There. You are all buttered up."

It was adorable. I wonder if it will still work when she's sixteen.

How cute is that? I hope she butters you up forever.

Remind me to tell you about the book I found (in one of my stacks) today. I'll bring it to group.

Awe, that is so sweet!! I'm sure she will still be buttering you up at sixteen. It will just be in a different way!!

Too cute! And no, it won't still work when she's 16. At least not all the time like it will now. But she'll probably still try it just to make sure. And that's not a bad thing at all. ;o)

I've often heard the advice, "Never be the first to let go of a hug from your chld." Never stop kissing, either. My sixteen year old son still kisses me goodnight. He's even been known to kiss me when I drop him off for school. Keep it coming!

I'm reading some posts of your blog as I'm discovering it (Thanks for leaving a comment on mine).
I can't resist to leave you this : my 4 years old boys is always telling me : "I love you, mom!...I love you mom..." Just to hear me reply : "so, do I".
And when I scold him, he tells me :"Idon't love you anymore." Then, I reply : "I always do love you". I see on his face, these words give him comfort.
Love this little post so kind! Every mother or dad feels the spontaneity of the youth.
